Leghold traps like this have been outlawed in Florida since 1974. Some people are using them as a method to control coyotes, and that makes the practice an easy target for animal activists. Photo courtesy furbearerdefenders.com.

Want to see how to manage to get hunting banned?

February 17, 2015

I understand the need to control coyotes. They are becoming an ever increasing problem. But if you'd like to see how to manage to get hunting banned, watch the video below. It is unbelievable to me that leghold traps are still legal in this day and age. As radical fringe as PETA is, it wouldn't be hard for them to get a MAJOR movement afoot against this cruel, inhumane and indiscriminate method -- and that's likely to spill over into legitimate outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. This is akin being the land-based equivalent of gillnetting.

Sickening.

Thankfully they've been illegal in Florida since 1974.
